The Recoleta reservoir is an irrigation dam located 25 km northeast of the city of Ovalle. With a capacity of 102 million cubic meters, it contains the waters of the Hurtado and Higuerillas rivers and was inaugurated in 1934.
This facility is crucial to guarantee the irrigation of the Limarí Valleys and thus allow the cultivation of grapes destined mainly to the production of outstanding wines and piscos. Beyond this, it constitutes a fantastic postcard of the area and is ideal to close the day enjoying the sunset.
